College is officially over.
It still doesn’t quite feel real. After years of papers, projects, long nights, early mornings, and plenty of coffee-fueled writing sessions, I submitted my final undergrad assignment. The journey that began with a simple desire to become a stronger writer, storyteller, and editor has bloomed into something so much bigger. I didn’t just finish college—I transformed. And now, a brand-new chapter begins.
Before I step into the MFA in Creative Writing program at SNHU this August, there’s one more major milestone: finishing the memoir.
This next stretch is going to be intense. I’m diving headfirst into the last round of developmental edits for the memoir—deep, honest work that requires just as much emotional clarity as it does technical polish. The story is raw and real, and bringing it across the finish line is priority number one.
At the same time, the job hunt is officially on. My goal is to land a position in the publishing or editing industry—somewhere I can apply my skills, sharpen them further, and contribute meaningfully to the world of words. Applications are out, interviews are starting to roll in, and I’m hopeful. The work is out there; I just need to find the right door and knock like hell.
In the background of all this, I’m laying the foundation for Sigma Writing Solutions—my own writing and editing company. It’s still early, but the vision is clear: help businesses succeed through the power of effective, impactful writing. Whether it’s content strategy, editorial work, or brand storytelling, I want to build something that empowers others to communicate clearly and authentically.
And of course, there’s the creative work.
Once the memoir is wrapped, all focus will shift to Gemini Project, my debut fiction novel. I’ve lived with this story for years, and the MFA program will be the perfect environment to refine, polish, and prepare it for publication. It’s the kind of story that keeps pulling me back to the keyboard, and I’m ready to give it everything.
On top of it all, I’ll be working toward my teaching certificate—with a goal of eventually teaching creative writing and literature. It’s a path I’m passionate about, and the dream is to one day inspire students the way I’ve been inspired throughout my own academic journey.
And perhaps most importantly, in the middle of all of this, I’ll be getting my daughter, Madison (aka “Ollie”), settled into Purchase College for her Photography program. She’s incredibly talented, and watching her start this next part of her journey fills me with pride and hope. Just as I’m stepping into something new, so is she—and it’s a beautiful, full-circle moment.
So what comes next?
Everything.
The memoir. The MFA. The job search. The business launch. The fiction novel. The teaching certificate. Helping my daughter chase her dreams while chasing my own.
It’s going to be a wild ride—but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Stay tuned.
