Course Overview

This course is a hands-on thriller writing workshop focused on building tension, sustaining suspense, and crafting stories that keep readers engaged from the first page. Over six weeks, participants develop a high-stakes concept, learn the core mechanics of thriller storytelling, and apply those techniques through guided writing exercises.

Writers will focus on creating pressure-driven scenes, developing complex characters under stress, and structuring plots that escalate with purpose. Each session emphasizes practical application, with opportunities for feedback and revision throughout the process.

By the end of the course, participants will have a fully developed thriller concept and a polished opening chapter or short piece that demonstrates strong control of pacing, tension, and narrative momentum.

This workshop is taught by a working writer with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Creative Writing (Fiction Concentration) from Southern New Hampshire University, along with a minor in Professional Writing.

He is currently pursuing a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Creative Writing while also earning a teaching certification in writing, bringing both advanced craft training and instructional expertise into the workshop.

His approach blends literary technique with practical, tension-driven storytelling—focusing not just on how stories are written, but how they hold a reader. Drawing from academic study, ongoing graduate work, and real-world writing practice, this workshop is designed to give writers both the structure and pressure needed to produce compelling thriller work.
