The Gemini Project marks my formal entrance into the Espionage Thriller and Suspense genre — but the path toward it has been unfolding for decades. The research, the questions, the moral tension — all of it has been building quietly in the background of my work.
This is not a genre experiment.
It is a long-planned evolution.
The Core of the Story
At the center of the novel is John Orion — a decorated Army veteran and CIA operative whose life fractures on September 11, 2001.
Years later, Orion discovers a classified memorandum.
The language is precise. Bureaucratic. Calm.
It discusses “pretexts.”
It outlines coordinated incidents.
It references narrative shaping and strategic sequencing.
In fiction, such a document is not a conclusion.
It is ignition.
Orion does not begin as a rebel. He begins as a patriot. A believer in structure. A defender of order. The discovery forces him into the most dangerous terrain an intelligence officer can enter:
Doubt.
And in espionage fiction, doubt is dynamite.
Because once doubt enters the mind of a trained operative, investigation follows. And investigation threatens systems built on silence.

The Gemini Project is the first installment in a larger arc centered on John Orion.
Across the series, Orion transforms from loyal operative to institutional ghost — a man who understands the machinery of the state because he once helped maintain it.
The second installment will be titled:

If The Gemini Project uncovers the blueprint, The Orion Protocol confronts the mechanism.
The first novel asks whether a lie was engineered.
The second asks what must be done once that lie is understood.
This is not simply a story about conspiracy.
It is a story about consequence. About loyalty. About the cost of knowing too much.
