Writing—like life—is a journey riddled with peaks and valleys. Some days, the words flow
like a rushing river, effortless and free. Other days, they
come in slow, agonizing trickles, each one squeezed out with painstaking effort. It’s in those moments—when doubt creeps in, when exhaustion whispers that maybe it’s time to quit—that we need a reminder: we are stronger than we think.
I’ve always prided myself on resilience. No matter what obstacles have stood in my way, I’ve faced them head-on. But even the strongest among us sometimes feel the weight of setbacks. Recently, I lost a job and had to put a class on hold to focus on my college education. It felt like a double blow, the kind that makes you question if you’re moving forward or simply treading water.
I was frustrated. I was disappointed in myself. And then, a friend reminded me of something I had forgotten in the haze of self-doubt.
“You never give up,” they said. “No matter what’s thrown at you, you keep pushing forward. You don’t let anything stop you.”
It was a simple truth, but one I desperately needed to hear. Because they were right—I have always kept going. And if I can do it, so can you.
So if you’re feeling stuck, if the words aren’t coming, if life has thrown obstacles in your path, remember this: Setbacks aren’t the end of the road; they’re just detours. You have more strength than you realize, more resilience than you know. Keep writing. Keep fighting. Keep going.
You’ve got this. 💪
