March of the Writers Day 20 – It’s a Date

It’s a Date! (Or Not This Year…)

Every writer dreams of book signings, literary festivals, and connecting with readers in person. But for me, 2025 is a year of academic milestones rather than author events.

I have nothing planned as an author this year, and for good reason—my focus is on completing my BA in English and Creative Writing and celebrating my graduation on May 4th. This journey has been long and challenging, but reaching this milestone makes every late-night writing session, every critique, and every revision worth it.

And then? The next chapter begins. In August, I start my MFA in Creative Writing, taking another step toward mastering my craft and preparing for future opportunities in publishing and teaching.

With such a full schedule, I won’t be attending author events this year, but that doesn’t mean I won’t be writing, growing, and preparing for the years ahead. Sometimes, the biggest event in a writer’s life isn’t at a bookstore or convention—it’s the quiet, determined work that lays the foundation for future success.

So, while I won’t be at signings or festivals, I’m still here, still writing, and still connecting with the literary world in the best way I can. 2026? That might be a different story.
