Who Is This?
My name is Richard White.
I’m a novelist, an MFA candidate in Creative Writing, and the founder of Whispers in the Dark Press. I write stories that live in the quiet spaces after chaos—where grief lingers, where truth fractures, where the human spirit decides whether to rise or fall.
I grew up in Vermont and now live in Amsterdam, New York. I’ve worn different uniforms in this lifetime, and each one has shaped the stories I tell. Service, sacrifice, silence, aftermath—those themes aren’t abstract to me. They’re lived.

My current work, The Gemini Project, explores the long shadow cast by September 11, 2001, and the unseen forces that reshape lives in the name of protection. It asks difficult questions about loyalty, power, memory, and the cost of secrecy.
I write because stories are how we process the unthinkable. I write because silence is heavy. I write because even in darkness, there are whispers worth hearing.
What will I do?
I will publish bold, unflinching fiction.
I will teach writing and mentor others.
I will keep asking uncomfortable questions.
And I will keep telling stories that matter.
That’s who this is.
