March of the Writers Day 2

Day #2 AHA Moment,
Afternoon my Nyctophilianites,
Today’s March of the Writers prompt is my AHA moment. When did I know I was or aspired to be a writer?
Once upon a time in the darkness far, far away I found a pen and a piece of paper and began writing poetry. OK, well, it sort of happened like that. I had a counselor teach me how to express my feelings on paper instead of in a group. I didn’t like to share with others what was going on. So poetry became a way to escape.
I sat down my poetry and writing for years, until I was a stay at home dad for a few years, which started in 2010. I started researching how to self publish my writing and if I could do it or not. Learning how to do everything on my own, I published my first book and then another and started meeting some of the greatest people I know on the web. Kathleen Pooler, JD Estrada, Joe Compton, Anais Chartschenko and Jim Nettles. and so many others. Meeting these people and becoming friends, and acquaintances I had my Aha moment. I’m really doing this. I’m talking to other authors and working on my newest books and moving forward from there.
I think that was my revelation. It just happened when I met some people that encouraged me to write my best.
